The 37779 is the cable that is normally recommended for use with modems as this cable does not require a Null modem and Gender changer, which the normal download cables would. There are TWO versions of the cable that have been created Rev A Swaps the Transmit and receive pins but does not swap the CTS/RTS lines. Technically the CTS/RTS lines should be swapped. Rev A cables are not recommend for use with 5700's it is normally easier to use a normal download cable with a null modem, or a REV B cable of course With a 4700/4800if you phone requires flow control then you are going to have to make a cable anyway, Rev B Swaps the Transmit and receive pins and the CTS/RTS lines. This is a classical Null modem. Please note all orginal documentation was based on a REV A cable, current documentation is based on a REV B cable. | |||||
