The 4800 has some behaviours that can cause problems when using a cell phone.

The main one is that port 3 will not work at 19200, it works at 9600 or 38400

Remember that you can use the Survey Controller on any port, not just port one (although power is only provided out port 1), and the cell phone can be on any port that supports flow control.
