Airlink (www.airlink.com) makes two CDPD modems that can be used for Survey work.

• Raven II
• RedWing

There is no real difference, for our applications, between the Redwing and the Raven II. They are the same physical unit.

The Redwing is cheaper, and therefore is the recommended modem.

The Airlinks are better than the sage as they have

• More LED's, which makes trouble shooting easier
• Power range 9-24volts
• More rugged
• External Antenna

Downside

• No internal power
• External Antenna
