If you get connected but there is no radio link there are two possible places that the problem could be.
- Base is not sending data to the rover
- Rover modem is not sending data to the receiver
Base not sending
Most modems, including cell phones, have an indication of it is sending data. On a extenral modem it a LED on a cell phone it will be on the display of the cell phone.
If the base is not sending you should check
- Cables, make sure that it is on the correct port
- Baud rate
- If using a receiver other than a 5700, flow control, could be a problem, in that the reciver is being told not to send data. Try turning off flow control.
Rover Modem not sending to the reciver
- Check the cables
- Check the baud rate
- Make sure that the DTR line correct, this is the most likely problem
- If the receiver is other than a 5700 check the flow control issues. Try turning off flow control.
