CDMA is a digital wireless format that allows many users to share the same radio frequencies. Each call is assigned a unique number, which allows the phone to lock out unwanted signals.

I believe that CDMA was originally created by Quallcomm. It is available at 800Mhz or 1900Mhz

CDMA is used by a number of providers

• ALLTEL
• PrimeCo
• Sprint PCS
• US Cellular
• USWEST Advanced PCS

Both Sprint and GTE provide data services.

In pratice, other than being incompatible with each other there is not alot of end user difference between CMDA and TDMA.
