AT&T

At&T is currently going though the process of updating their whole network.

The orginal network was TDMA at 850, it is now moving to GSM.

Service types

CDPD:

GPRS

Has GPRS coverage in areas with GSM service. We have no solution for GPRS at the moment

Dial-up Data

Data is somewhat unclear at the moment with AT&T. It is best to consult them, in a number of areas it has not been possible. In some it has been, but you get charged. With the change to GSM, this could change

Can I use this phone as a modem and Internet Service Provider for my home computer?

"AT&T Wireless Services offers tethering cable kits to be used in combination with FoneSync software. This will enable you to tether your phone to a PC or laptop for the purpose of uploading or downloading names and numbers into your phone's memory locations. At this time, AT&T Wireless Services does not endorse or support using the tethering kit to utilize your phone as a wireless modem. Should you choose to configure this on your own, your usage will be billed on a per Kilobyte basis (5¢ / Kb). Due to the fact that AT&T does not recommend tethering your phone for use as a wireless modem, Care does not support calls that come in regarding questions on tethering or difficulties customers may have while tethering." All phones do not allow this functionality.

Therefore is is recommended that AT&T phones not be used.
